Greek Salad

Changes, additions, recommendations..

Not a great deal you can alter in this recipe. It’s pretty clear cut. The main thing you could switch around is the olives, traditionally it uses either green or Kalamata olives but most variants will work here. Just avoid anything too salty.

Other than that, you can try different variations of green pepper if you can find them. Also you want to use the best tomatoes you can find, vine ripened or home grown are supreme.

Description

A tasty and healthy slice of familiar Greek Cuisine!

Ingredients

Units Scale

2 Tomatoes

1/2 Red Onion

1/2 Green Pepper

10cm Cucumber

5cm Feta

1/2 cup Olives (Kalamata or Green preferably, any will do though)

12 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar

34 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 tsp Salt

1 tsp Oregano

Healthy amount of Ground Black Pepper

Instructions

1. Start by preparing all the ingredients. Slice the Pepper and Red Onion into thin strips. Cut the Tomatoes and Cucumber into rough chunks and do the same with the Feta.

2. Add the Green Pepper, Red Onion, olives and feta to a bowl. I recommend using one with a lid so you can shake it all together to mix.

3. Now add in the oil, vinegar, salt, oregano and black pepper. Place the lid on an shake until well mixed.

4. Your salad is now ready to serve. Either alongside other Greek treats or by itself as a healthy meal.

Notes

  • You can use just about any type of olive and get away with it but try using Green or Kalamata olives ideally.
  • Use Vine ripened or home grown tomatoes for maximum flavour!
